Much of the plastic waste in the world sits unrecycled littering the streets, polluting the oceans, and accumulating in landfills.

In Ghana, Nelson Boateng has developed ingenious methods to improve recycling efforts, creating jobs while simultaneously cleaning the environment and unraveling a truly sustainable system for manufacturing.

His company, Nelplast Eco Ghana Limited, is successfully converting plastic rubbish into building blocks for economical development – pavement inlays for pathways, eco bricks for building homes, and plastic pellets for the production of new plastic materials.
